The 2nd annual "Night at the Ball Park" was held last Friday night and was a big success with hockey players from all over Vermont attending and meeting with UVM star and Boston Bruin goalie Tim Thomas.

The camp is a skill based instructional atmosphere with on ice and off ice training modules.The staff is comprised of coaches with a wealth of experience in coaching female hockey players specifically.  They understand and utilize training techniques that the female athlete responds to and are motivated by. New this year, the camp goes to Portland Maine to join the Maine Hockey Academy Camp directed by Colby College Women's Head Coach, Dave Venditti. We are joining camps for a skill session, cross ice games, camp cook out and two games with the two camps. This is a one night stay with activities Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.  Families may choose to stay on the rest of the weeeknd and enjoy the Maine coast. We feel this will be a fun way to end camp with meeting new friends and having friendly competition.

The 2010/2011 Face-off meeting is scheduled for August 21st.  This years meeting will be much more comprehensive with break-out sessions for Association Presidents, Registrars, schedulers, and an informational workshop for Womens hockey.  More information will be available as we get closer to the season.

The 8th Annual Breakaway Hockey Camp for Girls will run August 2-6 at Cairns Arena. This year’s camp will be headed by great coaches from UVM.  There are still spaces available in the u10, u12, u15 and Select groups.
