2)  2 & 2 Challenge Reminder - Sent to all VSAHA Associations

VSAHA Members,

     I wanted to remind you about signing up for the 2 & 2 Challenge for the 2012-2013 season.  This is a USA Hockey program that lays out  a plan and support in order to help you grow the game and sustain the numbers over the ages 4-8.  The VSAHA highly encourages all local associations to sign up and take part in the challenge.  We have seen success in growing the game from Vermont associations.  Recently Lyndon was recognized as one of only 35 associations in the nation to meet the 2 & 2 Challenge for the 3 years in a row. 

The deadline for VSAHA Grants is March 1st, 2011.  Any Association wanting to access the grant money must submit a written proposal outlining the following: 

• How much money is requested
• How will the money be used to help grow the game in your Association
• Submit any other supporting details such as projected costs, timelines of events, etc.

Hockey Weekend Across America is on Saturday, February 19th, 2011in Vermont .  USA Hockey still has 29 more slots until they hit their goal of 200 host locations.  We have two associations signed up already for the event.  I would like to see more associations jump on board with this promotion.
 
Those first 200 sites will receive 40 jerseys and goodie bags, a $50 credit to do a Valentine's Day card print with Digital Ink and be entered into an incentive program that rewards the top five programs with Bauer equipment (www.usahockey.com/programservices).
 
I know this is a busy time with state tournaments and other end of the year duties, but it is important to continue to promote hockey and our associations.  Please consider carving out a piece of ice for this event.  It could be a stand alone ice slot or with your learn to skate program or the mites.  Please contact John Cioffi ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
