VSAHA Meeting
January 13, 2009
Minutes
 
Meeting called to Order: 7:38 pm. 

Executive Board: Fritz Langrock, Keith Barrett, Jeff Cabanaw, Nate Isham, Craig Weston, Bob Greemore, John Pelkey, Chip LaGue.  Absent: Brian Collamore.

President Fritz Langrock:  Recognized Amanda Pelkey’s accomplishments as a member of the
USA U-18 team that recently won the World Championships in Fussen, Germany.
Amanda’s schedule may allow her to speak at the next VSAHA meeting, but not confirmed.

VP Keith Barrett: Transfers:

1.  Kasey Donna from CVSA to Barre.  Vote to follow Executive Board recommendation to not
     allow participation in State tourney: 10.  Those voting to allow participation: 11.  Kasey
     Donna is allowed to participate in the VSAHA tournament.

2.  Brian Fisher approved transfer to Essex.

3.  Lamoille Squirt B will be adding some Mites to its roster to combat an inordinate number of
     injuries.  An exception was made to the number of games played if not reached (the two
     tournament games count) due to the fact that there is nothing beyond the VSAHA tourney
     for the Squirt B to compete for.

Keith mentioned that the Executive Board may meet this spring to re-visit the transfer rules, especially those regarding “B” level players, and whether it is in the VSAHA’s best interest to not force these players to miss the tournament.

VP Jeff Cabanaw: New website is up and running, and will be completely finished soon.
A one-year deal has been signed with a new provider of t-shirts for the State tournaments.

Treasurer/Registrar Greemore: Treasurers report was approved

Vermont Select Tryouts for the Boys will be Feb 28-Mar 1.  All at Cairns.  Times and information will be posted very soon on the website.

Girls 96-97 tryouts will be changing.....and will be posted as soon as the dates, times and
location are finalized.  The extended HS Hockey season, among other factors has required this change.

NOMINATION FORMS ARE ON THE WEBSITE, AND SHOULD BE MAILED ASAP.

Coaching Director Weston: Absent from main meeting, nothing to report.

ACE Coordinator Pelkey: Absent from main meeting, nothing to report.

Girls Director Isham: U15 and U17 are in a 1-year trial period, having tryouts in state only, not district wide as usual.  Results will be posted soon.  Maine has not finished their tryouts, but will be done on January 25, 2009.

VP Cabanaw: Tournament Bracket draw!

Brackets will be posted as soon as possible on the website.
